Chef Toni of Cedars Café Named James Beard Award Semifinalist (2026)
We’re overjoyed to share some incredible news: Chef Toni Elkhouri has been named a Semifinalist for Best Chef: South by the James Beard Foundation.
This moment is both a celebration of where we began—and a reflection of where we’re going.
Cedars Café was founded by Marlene and Antoun Elkhouri with their hands, their values, and a simple belief: that food made with care, integrity, and respect brings people together. Sustainability, stewardship, and community were never trends here; they were how this restaurant learned to breathe.
Today, seeing that legacy recognized on a national stage—rooted right here on the Space Coast—fills us with pride, gratitude, and joy. It’s proof that meaningful work in small coastal towns matters. That doing things thoughtfully matters. And that when a community supports its own, beautiful things happen.
In this post, you’ll see two images: one from our early days, and one from now. Together, they tell a story of growth, resilience, and a future filled with possibility.
